Glacier National Park

Montana House is one of the few privately owned long time businesses in Glacier National Park. Situated in Apgar Village, we are so fortunate to find ourselves at the foot of Lake McDonald. Glacier National Park celebrated its 100th year in 2010, an event that was celebrated by visitors from all over the world and also by the locals – and super locals – who love Glacier.

The West Glacier entrance to the Park is the most used entry point, and it has the most services. On your short 2 mile drive from the gates to Apgar Village, you very well could see moose, wolf, elk, bear, wolverine, woodpeckers, and maybe even a mountain lion. Go slow and soak up the scenery! Going-to-the-Sun Road is a national park icon that has inspired artists in all mediums. Enjoy your time in the Park, and visit us at the Montana House for a special experience at one of our Look Listen and Learn programs. You can also find that special piece to remember your visit to Glacier National Park.
